Fractions - Basic Word Problems

1. Five children wanted to share 1 chocolate bar among themselves. Each child wanted 3 pieces.

a. How many pieces should they divide the chocolate bar into?
b. What fraction of chocolate bar would 1 child get? Draw the picture the show that.
c. Reduce the fraction to lowest terms.

2. Three friends wanted to share 1 pizza and everyone wanted 2 pieces each.

a. How many pieces should they divide the pizza into?
b. What fraction of pizza would 1 person get? Draw the picture to show that.

3. Eight friends wanted to share a pizza and everyone wanted 1 piece each.
