Algebra

1. A pack of tea bags cost £t. Anna bought 5 packs of tea bags. She bought a jar to put in the tea bags for £j. Write an expression to find the money Anna spent.

2. A car has 4 tyres. How many tyres are there in X cars?

3. There are 8 seats in a row. If there are n rows and there are 4 more seats on the stage, write an expression which shows the total number of seats.

4. A CD costs £n and a DVD costs £m. Anna buys 4 CDs and 5 DVDs. If C is the total cost of the CDs  and DVDs, write an equation to find C?

5. Sam saves £x every week for 15 weeks. He spends £35 on a toy. Write an expression to find out how much he has left.

6. Anna bought 12 tickets costing £a each and spent £b for snacks during the break. Write an expression to find the amount she spent in total.

13. Anna has a ribbon y metres long. What length of the ribbon is left after cutting 8 pieces each x metres long?

14. Anna bought a tomato plant which was 25 cm tall. It grew x cm everyday. How tall the plant would be after 5 days?

15. Anna spent £C to buy 2 cupcakes and a coffee. If the price of 1 cupcake is £A, how much did the coffee cost?
