Finding fractions

Example:

What fraction of £1 is 20p?

This is how you work out.

£1 = 100p

You keep 100p in the denominator and 20p in the numerator. 20p/100.

Now reduce the fraction to lowest terms. Divide the numerator and denominator by the same number. After a bit of working out, you will get the answer: 1/5

5. A box has 45 chocolates. 15 are mint flavoured. What fraction of the chocolates were not mint flavoured?

6. Kitchen floor was covered with 300 tiles. 75 were white. Rest were black. What fraction of the tiles were black?

7. Anna spent 45 minutes to do her homework. She spent18 minutes to do maths. 27 minutes to do writng work.

8. Anna had £64. She spend £24 to buy video games and £20 to buy action figures.
